Fox Gives Murphy's 'Glee' the Greenlight

Fox is feeling happy about “Glee,” greenlighting the Ryan Murphy musical drama to series. The network has ordered 13 episodes of the 20th Century Fox TV project, which has been on the development fast track since it was first announced earlier this year. It’s been widely expected that Fox will use its “American Idol” juggernaut to help launch the series this spring, though nothing official has been determined. Mr. Murphy (“Nip/Tuck”) created "Glee" with Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. All three wrote the pilot script. Mr. Murphy and Mr. Falchuk are executive producing, with Mr. Brennan on board as a co-executive producer. Mike Novick will be a producer on the project. (link)
