The Glee kids sang the National Anthem tonight, @Philadelphia, before Game 3 of the World Series between the Yankees and the Phillies.
Amber Riley (Mercedes) belted out a soulful lead, while the rest of the kids sang background harmonies.
Very nice.
Baseball has pre-empted Glee this week and next, but we’ll finally get our fix when the show returns on Wednesday, November 11.

Within hours of the Glee soundtrack being released on itunes at midnight (and stores everywhere) the Glee Soundtrack launched up to #1. Needless to say the cast members were ecstatic. This bodes well for the possibility for singles albums from several cast members. \n\nWhat an amazing year it's been for the Glee cast, who's lives were transformed seemingly overnight with a ton of scrapbook material for life. It’s about time for the darn World Series to be over! Didn’t they know that they were screwing up our Glee watching schedule? Sure, you could be like Deb, and let the music carry you over, or you could have enjoyed the cast singing the National Anthem at the start of Game 3. Or you could have been more like me, and just waited very impatiently for the show’s return. “Wheels” will be an episode with some surprising revelations, and a chance to get to know some of the characters — specifically Artie — that we haven’t spent a lot of time with yet.
